How do I get started?

All new families begin with our Residency Application. This allows us to understand your dog’s personality, needs, and routine so we can determine whether Pawty Mansion is the right fit. Once reviewed, we will contact you.


Do we offer tours or viewings?

We do not offer tours. To maintain a calm, predictable environment for our current dogs, all visits occur only after a Residency Application has been reviewed and we feel we are a suitable match. If aligned, we schedule a personalized Residency Assessment.


Why is our address not listed?

To preserve the tranquility and absolute security of our pack, the Mansion operates as a private, invitation only environment.


By keeping our location confidential, we eliminate the stress of drop‑in traffic and unscheduled visitors. This ensures our sanctuary remains a quiet, predictable space for the dogs who rely on calm, stable routines.


We are located in the heart of Kerrisdale, convenient to YVR. Our precise address is shared exclusively with families once their application is reviewed and a Residency Assessment has been scheduled.


What is a Residency Assessment?

An Residency Assessment is a structured meet and greet where your dog is introduced to the environment at their own pace. This allows us to evaluate comfort, temperament, and compatibility with our sanctuary setting.


Why do we require a Residency Application before a Residency Assessment?

Our application first process ensures:

  • safety for all dogs in our care
  • a calm, stable environment
  • appropriate matching based on temperament and needs
  • a boutique experience for families seeking high‑quality, personalized care

This approach allows us to make thoughtful, informed decisions about compatibility and care.


Why is the Residency Assessment fee required?

We dedicate a significant amount of time and attention to every new family. The assessment fee helps ensure we’re connecting with families who are genuinely interested in our style of home based care.

This step allows us to offer a calm, personalized, unrushed introduction where your dog is supported at their own pace, while preserving the peaceful, high quality environment our current dogs rely on.


What is Group Environment Residency?

This is our signature home style experience. In a calm group residency, your dog sleeps in a shared, cozy environment with our other vetted residents and 24 hour onsite human care. It is designed for social dogs that thrive on companionship and feel most secure when they are part of a peaceful, supervised pack.


At what age do dogs need to be neutered/spayed for a Group Residency?

For our Group Environment Residency, we require all guests over 12 months of age to be spayed or neutered.

  • Puppies Under 1 Year: We welcome unaltered puppies under 12 months into our group pack, provided they meet our social and vaccination requirements.
  • Adults (12+ Months): Once a dog reaches one year, their biological maturity can begin to shift the "energy" of a social pack. To maintain a calm and safe environment for everyone, intact adults are hosted exclusively in our Private Bedroom Residency.

This policy ensures that maturing dogs aren't "picked on" by the pack and can continue to enjoy the Mansion in a stress free, private setting.


Do we accept Intact (unspayed and unneutered) dogs?

Yes. Unlike most high volume daycares and boarding facilities, we welcome intact guests. We believe every dog deserves a safe, high end sanctuary regardless of their reproductive status. To ensure the safety of our entire pack, all intact guests are automatically enrolled in our Private Bedroom Residency.


How do we handle Intact dogs differently?

Safety and peace of mind are our priorities. Intact guests enjoy their stay in a private, cage free bedroom and participate in Solo Yard time. This means they have exclusive use of our outdoor space and one-on-one enrichment with our us, ensuring zero physical contact with other dogs while still receiving plenty of love and exercise.


Why is there an extra fee for Intact dogs?

Because intact guests require dedicated private square footage and 1-on-1 staffing for all outdoor activities, they are booked under our Private Bedroom Residency rate. This premium service reflects the individualized care and total separation required to maintain a stress free environment for everyone.


What is Private Room Residency?

Our Private Room Residency is our specialized boutique service for dogs that prefer their own space or are less social with other dogs and intact (unspayed or unneutered) dogs. These residents enjoy a dedicated, quiet Mansion bedroom for meals, rest, and sleep. This allows us to provide a safe, low stress environment where they can enjoy their stay without the pressure of constant group interaction. 


Why is Private Room Residency mandatory for Intact dogs?

Even the friendliest, most social intact dog carries a distinct biological scent that can significantly alter the "energy" of a pack environment. In a group setting, this often causes other dogs to become hyper-focused, over-stimulated, or even "pick on" the intact guest, regardless of how well behaved they are.

To maintain our quiet, sanctuary like atmosphere and protect your dog from being targeted or stressed by these unpredictable pack dynamics, we provide a mandatory Private Bedroom Residency. This ensures they can enjoy a peaceful stay in their own retreat, free from social pressure and the reactive behaviours of other dogs.


What if my female dog is in heat?

Mandatory Private Bedroom Residency is strictly required for females in active heat. This provides a specialized, isolated environment that maintains the pristine standards of the mansion and prevents extreme over-stimulation of our male guests. While we generally recommend females in heat stay home, this residency allows us to provide a safe, dignified solution for emergencies or unavoidable travel.


Do we offer discounts?

As a boutique residence, we prioritize a serene, low volume environment and highly individualized attention for every guest. To maintain this elite standard of care, we do not offer discounts for first time guests, multi-dogs or extended stays. Every dog at the Mansion receives the same dedicated, high attunement care regardless of the duration of their residency.


At the Mansion, we prioritize safety, tranquility, and individual attention over high volume occupancy. Our rates reflect our commitment to maintaining a low density, highly supervised sanctuary where every dog is treated as a resident, not a number. Unlike commercial kennels or high volume gig services, we limit our capacity to a select few to ensure 24 hour onsite care and a stable, stress free pack environment. When you book a residency, you are investing in a private, professional home setting where your dog’s mental and physical wellbeing is our absolute priority.


Is full payment required to book?

Yes, full payment is required at the time of booking. We don’t take deposits, as this helps us reserve your dog’s space with confidence and maintain a small, stable group.

For families who prefer added flexibility, Afterpay is available for Boarding Residencies and 10 Day Residencies.

We also accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and e‑transfer.


Is Afterpay approval guaranteed?

No. All installment plans are available upon request, but final approval is determined exclusively by Afterpay.


Pawty Mansion has no influence over Afterpay’s independent credit assessment, spending limits, or approval decisions

For High-Value Residencies: If a long term residency exceeds your Afterpay spending limit, we can easily facilitate a split payment. This allows you to maximize your Afterpay limit for one portion and settle the remaining balance via e-transfer. This ensures your dates are secured immediately while giving you the financial flexibility you need.


Is there any options for frequent guests?

We prioritize stability and long term relationships within our pack. While we do not offer traditional discounts or 'bulk' rates, we provide Annual Memberships for families who value ongoing, consistent care. The path to securing Annual Memberships can be found on The Residency Menu 


Do we offer refunds?

Bookings are non‑refundable, as we reserve space for a small number of dogs and plan our days intentionally around each guest. This helps us maintain a calm, predictable environment for the group.

If your plans change, we’re happy to offer a credit for future use or reschedule your booking to another available date.


What types of dogs are a good fit for Pawty Mansion?

We welcome dogs who thrive in a real home environment, whether they’re confident social butterflies or sensitive, quirky, and emotionally complex souls.

We prioritize emotional and physical safety for everyone in the home, ensuring each pup feels secure, understood, and compatible with the overall group dynamic.


Do we have any breed or size restrictions for Residency?

We believe in the individual, not the label. From the smallest toy breeds to the largest gentle giants, every dog is welcome to apply.

Because we operate a low volume, home based sanctuary, our priority is curating the right environment for every guest to thrive. Rather than breed bans, we focus on temperament and biological compatibility to determine the best fit:

  • Group Residency: For social, pack-friendly dogs who love the company of a shared home.
  • Private Bedroom Residency: A dedicated, premium space for our intact (unspayed/unneutered) guests, larger dogs with high energy spirits, or those who simply value their own quiet "me-time."

To maintain the tranquility and safety our families rely on, we are highly selective. We only move forward with residencies that are a fit for our specialized model, ensuring the Mansion remains a stress free haven for everyone.


Do we accept puppies?

Yes, we do. Puppies must meet our vaccination requirements and demonstrate appropriate social behaviour for a group environment.


What are the vaccination requirements?

For everyone’s safety, all dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations and flea/tick prevention. Proof of vaccination is required before any assessment or booking.


How does boarding work?

Boarding takes place inside our home, not a kennel. Dogs sleep wherever they feel most comfortable, on beds, couches, or designated quiet areas. We maintain a peaceful, supervised environment 24/7.

For dogs who prefer more privacy or structure, we also offer the option of a dedicated Private Bedroom Residency, which can be added as an upgrade based on your dog’s comfort and needs. 


Is the mansion suitable for long term stays (30+ days)?

Yes. We specialize in "Extended Residencies" for families who are traveling or relocating. Unlike high-volume kennels where dogs can become stressed over time, our home based environment allows long term guests to decompress and maintain a healthy, stable routine. Please note that for the stability of our pack, we do not offer discounts for extended stays; every day of a long term residency receives the same high attunement, 24/7 care.


Do we offer 24/7 on site supervision?

Yes. Pawty Mansion provides continuous, 24/7 on site supervision at all times, including overnight.


How far in advance should I book?

For standard dates, we recommend starting the New Client Application and Assessment Request 4 to 6 weeks in advance. This allows us enough time to personally review your dog’s routines and complete a Residency Assessment to ensure they are a perfect fit for our small pack environment.

For Peak Seasons (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and, Spring Break), we typically sell out 3 to 4 months ahead.


Do we offer a waitlist for Boarding Residency?

Yes. If the Mansion is at capacity for your preferred dates, you may request to join our Standing Waitlist. We monitor our calendar daily and will contact families in order of align+ment should a spot become available. Please note that priority is always given to dogs that have already completed a successful Residency Assessment.


How do I join the waitlist for an Unlimited Membership?

Our Unlimited Memberships are highly exclusive and limited to a small number of families. To join this waitlist, you must already be part of the Mansion Ecosystem. This requires either a history of previous boarding residencies or holding an active 10 Day Pass while awaiting a permanent membership opening. This ensures that every dog entering our long term community is already vetted, settled, and a perfect fit for our pack environment.


What should I bring for daycare/boarding?

We provide all bedding, blankets, and toys to maintain a neutral, calm environment for the group. Personal items such as toys or comfort objects are not permitted, as they can trigger resource guarding or regression in a shared space.

Please bring only your dog’s regular food and any required medication.

If your dog is booked into a private room, you are welcome to bring personal items for that space, as it will remain exclusively theirs during their stay.


How do we communicate with parents during Residency?

We provide updates, photos, and check ins to ensure you feel connected and informed throughout your dog’s stay through our client portal. Also, parents will have access to our client dedicated Whatsapp and phone number 24/7.


How Do I contact Pawty Mansion?

For Our Existing Mansion Families: Established families have direct, 24/7 access to our dedicated client WhatsApp and priority phone line. This ensures seamless communication and real time updates while your dog is in our care.

For Prospective Families: To protect the calm, sanctuary environment our residents rely on, all new relationships begin with our Residency Application. We personally review every application to ensure our specialized, low-volume setting is the right fit for your dog’s personality and needs. If we believe we are a match for one another, we will reach out within 24-48 hours to discuss the next steps for a Residency Assessment.


Why don't we accept calls from new families?

Because we’re a true home based sanctuary, our first responsibility is always to the dogs already staying with us. Maintaining a peaceful, predictable environment means keeping our days free from unexpected interruptions so we don’t take phone calls from prospective families.

Over time, we’ve learned that most early questions are best answered through our website and  Residency Application. This lets us review your dog’s needs with care and intention, and ensures we’re connecting with families who genuinely resonate with our style of home based, boutique care. It also allows us to stay fully present with the dogs in our home, which is the heart of what we do.
